The EU AI Act requires AI Regulatory Sandboxes (AIRS) by August 2027; this paper proposes an open-source framework, the AI Assessment Sandbox Configurator, to support technical assessment in AIRS, addressing the need for dedicated infrastructure and harmonized tools.
